The Creation
There were two events that urged me to go from an “idea” to an “ideal.” In journalism, it’s said that it only takes three like incidents to constitute a trend. So it did not go unnoticed when, within a day, three different colleagues told me that I should be writing an advice column of sorts. In quick (but unrelated) succession, I was granted a wealth of additional free time…in the form of a layoff.
As nice as it is to not have to set my alarm, I’m not particularly well-suited to a life of leisure. My brain simply doesn’t know how to entertain itself unless it’s figuring out the solution to a problem. Since I deeply dislike sudoku, the only sensible solution seems to be letting strangers put my noggin to good use.
By “strangers,” of course, I mean you. (If you want to know who the heck I am, see the next page.)
